This month’s CDP message of the month is Positivity! Positivity is mentioned in everyone’s very first karate lesson when learning Student Creed 1, “I will develop myself in a positive manner” and it is recited at the beginning of every karate class for a reason. A positive attitude is an important part of the journey towards black belt!
It is understandable to feel upset about the major differences in life right now, but we can change the way that we think and react to this, and do something positive, like karate, that’s good for both our mind and our body! We will be thinking about ways to turn a negative thought like “I’m so bad at this” or “I can’t do this” into a positive thought like “I’m doing my best to learn this” or “I am working my hardest at this”.
We can also think about how our environment also plays a role in having a positive attitude. If we are surrounding ourselves with positive people that do positive healthy things, we are more likely to adopt positive habits ourselves. If we spend too much time around negative pessimistic people, it will be a lot harder.
““There’s a positive side to everything. It just takes a positive mind to see it.””
